About Us
What is the Leadership Training Institute?
The Leadership Training Institute (LTI) is a project funded by the National Institute of Mental Health that seeks to increase diversity in social and behavioral research and leadership positions by providing advanced training and mentoring opportunities via a Training Institute in combination with a customized website. The website will include videotaped LTI presentations on crucial topics such as grantsmanship, networking skills, and career planning, as well as on-line opportunities for continued mentoring and communication among members. The topics and interactive activities included in the LTI are aimed at trainees who are at the often-difficult transition periods of early to mid career, at which many diverse researchers leave the researcher career path.
Who developed the Leadership Training Institute?
The LTI is developed and hosted by the 3-C Institute for Social Development (3-C ISD). 3-C ISD creates scientifically validated assessment and intervention tools for professionals and parents who wish to help children build positive peer relationships and social coping skills. You can learn more at the 3-C ISD web site.
How is it funded?
The LTI has been funded with Federal funds from the National Institute of Mental Health under contracts #HHSN278200553104C and #HHSN271200774104C.
